Practical Research Project
Six-month research project investigating fatty acid substrate specificity of a PUFA
elongation component of the microalga Isocrysis galbana. Used molecular techniques
to investigate this, focusing on the role of a histidine box homologous to PUFA
elongation components.
Library Research Project
Three-month library based research project on arthropod phylogenies. Required critical
and comparative study of recent and past research in this area, looking at the different
putative phylogenies and their methods of construction.
